Youth-Serving Organizations

The Teel Institute partners with a wide variety of youth-serving organizations to custom design programs and curricula, training and education, and research and outcomes evaluation for their clients. The Teel Institute has partnered with the following partial list of clients:

  • The Kansas City Star, Newspapers in Education: design and evaluation of a classroom-based character education curriculum for use with the newspaper in Grades 6-9

  • Charles Hall Youth Services: consultation, training, design of program materials, and evaluation for youth in residential foster group homes, Bismarck, ND

  • Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri; design and evaluation of assessment instruments and program for physical fitness and emotional health

  • H.U.D.; design and implementation of training workshops in self-esteem, personal effectiveness, and parenting skills for parents/residents in subsidized housing

  • YouthFriends; design and delivery of training modules/workshops for program coordinators working in school-based mentoring programs

  • The State of Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services and The State of Kansas Department of Human Resources: design and evaluation of a curriculum for case managers that teaches clients interpersonal and intrapersonal skills for job retention

  • Wayside Waifs: design and evaluation of a humane education program to teach responsibility, empathy, introspection, respect for the rights of others, and self-control to children in Grades 3-5 using pets and animals as the theme

  • Women’s Intersport Network: design and evaluation of a mentoring program designed to train high school female athletes to mentor Middle School girls, teaching the Institute’s self-esteem program in combination with health and fitness

  • Parents as Teachers: educational tools for parent educators who work with parents of children aged 0-3

  • 4-H of the State of Kansas: design and evaluation of a leader training and club-based curriculum for 4-H clubs with children aged 5-15 to be implemented at club meetings

  • Police Athletic League: design of an after-school program designed to be implemented by police officers in the urban core to teach the Institute’s program of self-esteem and character.
