Research and Evaluation One
thing that distinguishes The Teel Institute from many other
organizations is its commitment to research and evaluation. The
Institute carefully evaluates its programs for effectiveness, paying
specific attention to outcomes of its programming in terms of
behavioral and attitudinal changes in children and adults. The
Institute gathers subjective data through structured interviews with
the users of the programs; some of these outcomes from parents,
students, and teachers are presented as testimonials.
The
Institute also conducts objective evaluation, using a variety of
assessment tools designed specifically to measure changes in knowledge,
behavior, and beliefs in children and adults. Over the years, The
ESSENTIAL Curriculum has been extensively evaluated to determine if it
is effective in improving children’s behavior; the data from these
controlled studies are presented in the research results. Finally, the Institute provides a wide variety of research and evaluation services for schools, youth-serving organizations, and funders.
